Comments: A southern form of the North's well-known forest native, sugar maple. It has an upright oval habit when openly grown, achieving 50' high, 40-50' wide. Leaves are smaller than more northern native plants. In fall foliage turns clear yellow to orange. This species is reported as more heat tolerant than the species.
