.
Common name: Silver Queen silver maple
Family: Aceraceae (maple family)
Distribution: Species native to e. North America
Hardiness: USDA Zone 3
Life form: Deciduous tree
Comments: A very fast-growing selection of a native deciduous tree. Mature size is 60' tall and 45' wide, forming a more regular rounded form. This selection is seedless or nearly so. It develops a more dominant central leader, slender branches and stronger branch angles than is typical for this species. Summer foliage is bright green with the lower surface silvery colored. Fall color is yellow. A great tree for poor soil sites where little else will grow but be aware of tendency to produce surface roots.
