Comments: A rather old form originating in Europe from Esveld Nursery, Netherlands, around 1985. A chance seedling and putative hybrid involving our native vine maple (A. circinatum), 'Herbstfeuer' displays dark green foliage deepening to bronze-purple in late summer and eventually orange in the fall. This vigorous selection can reach 20' or more at maturity but tends to be quite narrow in habit.
