Comments: The name translates to "red smoke" referring to the small, purple-red leaves with variegated creamy margins. A compact vase-shaped deciduous tree growing about 12' tall and wide. Reddish summer foliage is brightest in sun and bronze as they age, turning gold to red. One of the most versatile maples as far as landscape use. Great as a specimen, accent, in groupings or shrub borders.
