This deciduous tree can grow to 70' tall, but more commonly matures between 30-40'. Young leaves are light green, becoming dark green by midsummer. Flowers are insignificant as are the one-inch-long, hairless winged fruits (samaras). It has long been used in clipped screens or hedgerows.
