Image: Larson, Richard A. - The Dawes Arboretum
.
Common name: Cis Korean fir
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Distribution: Species native to Korea
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Evergreen tree
Comments: A relatively new selection out of Holland, this plant is an extremely miniature evergreen shrub having dark, glossy green needles. It possesses a globe-shaped, low-growing and somewhat spreading habit, growing only about 1" per year. Literature indicates this species is slightly more heat tolerant than most firs. Good used with other evergreens or as a specimen.
