Comments: A broadleaf evergreen shrub reaching 6-8' tall and wide, but usually one half that size in colder climates. One of many hardy evergreen azalea hybrids developed by Joseph Gable. An extremely hardy species. Foliage is dark green, glossy, densely crowded, 1-2" in length, often taking on reddish hues in fall. Flowers open vivid red, 2" across, in early to mid-May.
