Comments: A deciduous tree growing 30-40' high, often developing multi-stemmed trunk and low branches. Flower are white, slightly fragrant in March-April. Flowers best when tree gets older, but varies with each tree. Fruits arranged in cone-like follicles opening in October-November to expose bright red seeds. Does well in many soil types but best in rich, well-drained soil, in part sun.
