Comments: An upright to arching shrub or small tree to around 15'. Native to southeastern U.S. moist bottomlands. Flowers in May as white clusters, sometimes unpleasantly scented. Summer foliage is attractive, glossy green leaves. Fruit ripens from green to blue-black. Brilliant red to purple leaves in autumn. Excellent for massing or specimen.
