Comments: Introduced into cultivation around 1900 but rarely observed outside of botanical gardens and arboreta. Grows to 5' tall and wide, and has brown peeling bark. Alternate leaves are 2-4" long, coarsely toothed along the margins. Pink flowers open in May as 1-3" nodding clusters. Grows in most any soil and does best in full sun.
