Comments: A large evergreen tree commonly planted in central Ohio. Fast growing, sometimes achieving 3' in a single season if conditions are optimum. Can grow 50' in 30 years with 25' spread. Ultimately can reach 80' plus and 40' wide. The soft, blue-green needles are produced five in a bundle. Best used as a screen, away from utilities and structures. Wood is soft and brittle, sustaining damage under heavy snow or ice loads.
