A broadleaf evergreen growing to 9' tall and 6' wide, though usually smaller in Ohio. New leaves emerge tinted bronze, changing to lustrous dark green. Flowers are slightly fragrant, white, bell-shaped, 3-6" long panicles. Forms a neat, compact shrub and is often used as a specimen or companion plant.
