.
.
Common name: Jade Prince® dawn redwood
Family: Cupressaceae (cypress family)
Distribution: Species native to c. China
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5

Comments: A recent J. Frank Schmidt Nursery introduction (Boring, Oregon), and valued for its more upright and tighter branch angles than the species. Jade Prince dawn redwood may grow up to 70' tall if one could live for a century or longer. This deciduous gymnosperm has attractive light green needles early on, changing to medium green in summer and then bronze red in autumn, opposite in arrangement.
