Picea orientalis 'Holenka'

.
.
Common name: Holenka oriental spruce
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Distribution: Species native to Caucasus Mountains (Georgia) and Turkey
Hardiness: USDA Zone 4
Life form: Evergreen tree
Comments: This slow-growing, dwarf selection of evergreen conifer was found as a witches'-broom in the Czech Republic. It is a slow grower only producing a few inches on gnew growth annually. This small stature would make it a great addition as a specimen or accent plant or as part of a conifer bed.
