Comments:
This very rare and unusual species of maple is somewhat similar in leaf to Japanese maple with handsome 5 pointed, glossy foliage. The leaves are green with whoolly tufts of white on the reverse sides. Flowers are somewhat showy for a maple with terminal, upright racemes in late May. Fruits (samaras) are woolly also.
