Family: Nyssaceae (tupelo family)

Comments: This is a unique weeping cultivar of black tupelo that was found by Steve Foltz in northern Kentucky. It will reach a height of 40 feet and a spread of 30 feet at maturity. Glossy green foliage on pendulous branches turns to shades of orange and gold in autumn. Does best in full sun to partial shade and average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. Must have rich, acidic soils to ensure success, and is subject to yellowing of the leaves in alkaline soils. It is intolerant of urban pollution.
