This is a selection of an unusual deciduous conifer found in China in 1945, previously thought to have been extinct. It was selected by Tom Cox of Cox Arboretum in Canton, GA. Its needles are darker green and the bark is a deep dark red-brown and fissured. This selection is fast growing, 15' tall in 10 years, and could be used as part of a screen or a specimen. Fall color is bronze-yellow. Resistant to deer browse.
