Comments: A deciduous shrub valued mostly for its fragrant, abundant, bright pink flowers that open from late winter to early spring. Habit is upright arching, to 10' tall with deeply veined dark green leaves. Early flowering habit frequently subjects flower buds to cold temperature damage. Fruit ripens to a black drupe. Fall color seldom showy, but occasionally red to purple.
