Comments: A deciduous shrub growing 5' tall and 8' wide with spreading, horizontal branches. White flower clusters have showy sterile florets in an outer ring, fertile on the inside. They occur in May, 3-5" across. The flowers and fruit are held upright on short stems in rows upon both sides of the branches and are why the plant is called "doublefile." Fruit begins red then changes to black in fall. Fall color is purplish red.
