Comments: A stoutly branched, deciduous shrub growing 10-15' tall and wide. The ornamental quality of this plant is its 5" long, golden, yellow-mottled variegated leaves. Excellent for the shrub border where it can light up a dark area. Flower clusters are up to 5" across in May. Fruit is a small drupe, first yellow, then red, finally maturing black. Fall color can have purplish tints but is usually poor.
