Comments: A stoutly branched, deciduous shrub growing 10-15' tall and wide. The foliage of this cultivar is larger and darker green than the species. Excellent for the shrub border where it can light up a dark area. Flower clusters are up to 5" across in May. Fruit is a small drupe, first yellow, and then red, finally maturing black. Fall color can have purplish tints but is usually poor.
