silver American arborvitae

Cupressaceae (cypress family)
Distribution:
Species native to e. North America

Comments:
A selection from many decades ago noted for its scaly needles with white tips. Rare outside of public gardens but useful in tight spaces, as Argentea eastern arborvitae will max out at 10' but only half that in spread. Protect from deer browse in areas where populations of deer are high.
