Comments: A medium, upright-rounded, deciduous shrub attaining 6-8' high and 4-6' wide. Pale green leaves are heart-shaped. Flowers in panicles in May-June and has a pleasant fragrance. Flowers are often paired, 3" long, light lavender-blue in color. Fall color can be red-purple or soft violet. Use as a specimen plant, in the shrub border, mixed with other lilacs or as an accent plant. Does best in full sun in moist, well-drained, neutral soil supplemented with organic matter. May have some of the typical lilac problems: powdery mildew, scale, borers and pollution damage.
