Comments: A small deciduous shrub that reaches only 3' tall and wide that is particularly useful for open and droughty sites. This shrub was one of around 20 forms that were bred and selected by Roy Klehm of Klehm's Songsparrow Nursery in Avalon, Wisconsin for improved flowers and fall color. Leaves are alternate, 1-2½" in length, sharply toothed along the margins with medium to dark green summer color. In the fall, hues range from purple to gold. Flowers open in May and bloom intermittently throughout the summer, light pink, in 2-3" clusters. Plant in full sun, well-drained soil in the spring or fall.
