Comments: A deciduous large shrub or small tree, 5-10' tall in central Ohio. A native of China, named after the famous plant explorer, E. H. Wilson who introduced it to the west in 1908. Monoecious--male catkin-like flowers, greenish brown; female, pendulous spikes to 9" long. Exceedingly rare, for the persistent collector.
