Yellow Eyes rhododendron
Family:
Ericaceae (heath family)
Distribution:
hybrid: Nearing hybrid

Comments:
This lepidote (leaves with scales) form is a Guy Nearing cross that pushes the boundaries of a yellow rhododendron. This vigorous, upright plant with reddish colored new growth will grow to about 4' tall. Early in April, large cream-colored flowers appear with a striking yellow flare which looks yellow from a distance. Use as an accent, mass or specimen planting.
