Comments: A broadleaf evergreen shrub somewhat wider than tall, growing 3' by 5'. Foliage appears glossy, olive-green year-round with new growth distinctly marked by silver white indumentum. Flowers arrive in mid-May, purplish pink petals marked with pink throats. Its spherical floral trusses contain 14 flowers. Introduced and bred by native Ohioan, Tony Shammarello, around 1977.
