Ericaceae (heath family)
Distribution:
hybrid: Dexter/Holden Arboretum hybrid

Comments:
A wonderful hybrid of elepidote (leaves without scales) rhododendron. This plant grows to 5' tall and a bit wider with a rounded outline and good branching. The very fragrant flowers open a pale purplish pink with orchid pink edging and a greenish throat, then fade to almost creamy yellow-pink. The flowers have a subtle but delightful fragrance. Use as an accent, mass or specimen planting.
