Comments: An upright-growing deciduous tree 50-60' tall by 10-15' wide. Selected from seedlings of the fastigiate oak and valued for its tighter growth habit. Flowers arrive before the 2-5", dark green leaves. Fall color lacking or a poor yellow. Male flowers yellow-green, catkin-like. Female flowers in upright spikes give way to light brown nuts. Somewhat susceptible to powdery mildew.
