Comments: A medium-sized evergreen tree capable of reaching 50' tall in cultivation. Narrower habit than the species with ascending branches. Needles are less stout than the species, 4-7" long, dark green year-round. Young branches are distinctly reddish orange. Tolerant of salt and strong winds. May be susceptible to Diplodia needle blight, a lethal fungal disease.
