Comments: A broadleaf evergreen growing to 9' tall and 6' wide, though usually smaller in Ohio. New leaves emerge reddish changing to lustrous dark green. This selection produces abundant rich maroon flower buds that open to bell-shaped, 3-6" long panicles of deep rose-pink flowers that are slightly fragrant and some think smell like Pez candy. Forms a neat, dense, upright compact shrub and is often used as a specimen, accent or companion plant.
