A small, slow-growing, compact evergreen shrub 2-3' high and wide. New leaves are bronze-red becoming edged with white when mature. White flowers are weakly fragrant, urn-shaped in March-April. Fruits are small capsules that can persist through winter. Stems are green to yellow-green. Excellent as a specimen, in masses, or in shrub borders with other evergreens.
