.
Common name: Saint Mary Colorado blue spruce
Family: Pinaceae (pine family)
Distribution: Species native to w. United States (Rocky Mountains)
Hardiness: USDA Zone 3

Comments: An outstanding, low-spreading, dwarf evergreen difficult to find in retail market. Found as a witches'-broom this dark green needled plant grows VERY slowly, taking twenty years to reach 30'' tall and spread of 4'. This would make a wonderful specimen in the rock garden.
