Comments: A small, deciduous tree said to be more compact than the species. Expect 20-25' tall and nearly as wide after 30 years. White flowers occur before the leaves and are larger than the species. Sometimes flowers are nipped by freezing temperatures in early spring. Foliage is dark green and puckered in habit. Flower buds are produced in previous year and are large and pubescent. Site in sun or part shade in moist, well-drained soil.
