Comments:
A pretty, compact, deciduous flowering shrub that can grow 4' tall and wide. Leaves may be as large as 12" across, deeply lobed, resembling an oak leaf. Flowers occur on second-year wood in early summer (June/July), up to 8" across, creamy white. Autumn color is often a beautiful maroon with the leaves and flower petals matching each other. Nice when used in the front shrub border.
