Comments:
A medium-sized, deciduous shrub that was one of the original purple-leaf specimens introduced. Approximate height is 15-20' high and nearly as wide. Leaves appear as dark purplish red changing to green tinged with purple over summer months, followed by pink-red plumes in late spring, early summer. Periodic rejuvenation retains dense, purple foliage. Good plant for massing, or a striking specimen plant in border or yard.
