Comments: A vigorous, upright, deciduous shrub, growing to 12' tall, whose branches become strongly decumbent with age. A well-known, weeping form with an exceptionally heavy floral display. White, 2" wide, petal-like bracts open in late May and continue until midsummer. Fruits ripen strawberry-red, 1" across, held on stalks. Foliage is generally clean and lustrous green in summer changing to red and purple by autumn. Bark on older specimens takes on mottled combinations of white and gray-brown.
