Comments: A small, vase-shaped, deciduous tree to 12' tall and wide. Originated from a plant found in Maryland but rarely offered in the trade. This tree is valued for its attractive, yellow and green variegated, 2-3" long, lance-shaped leaves. Variegation remains effective throughout the growing season. Flowers open in late May, 1½-2" wide, featuring four white, petal-like bracts. Fruits are borne on stalks and ripen strawberry-red in the fall.
