Comments:
A deciduous large shrub or small tree growing from 10-20' tall and wide and seldom seen in cultivation. Leaves are dark green, clustered at the ends of branches. Fall color develops maroon to bronze-red. Flowers are white, slightly fragrant, in 4-6" terminal racemes in July and August. The bark is a notable characteristic being smooth, polished, gray with rich brown to cinnamon flaking. Fast growing given ample moisture and rich soil. Use in the shrub border or as a specimen.
