Comments: One of several selections introduced by the late John Verkade of Verkade's Nursery in New Jersey. This evergreen conifer shrub originated as a seedling mutant. Growth rate is extremely slow, 1-3" per year, eventually to 2' over a ten year span. Form is broadly conical for this tight, small evergreen. Needles are soft and adult-like, medium dark green in summer becoming somewhat lighter in winter. Useful as a specimen in a rock garden.
