Comments:
A dwarf selection of a favorite native deciduous tree. Bright magenta pea-like flowers emerge in mid to late April. After flowers fade, small, heart-shaped, crinkled leaves emerge giving this plant a distinctive look in the garden. This dwarf selection grows only 10-12' tall and 10' wide and is reported to be nearly fruitless. Use as garden specimen or accent. Fall color is yellowish brown. It is tolerant of clay, black walnut and deer.
