Comments: A deciduous dieback shrub in central Ohio, growing 3-4' tall and wide in a single season. It has graceful arching stems. Light violet flowers occur in small, dense clusters in June. Is said to fruit earlier than the species and the fruit is the real show, being small and colored lavender to violet-purple, lasting into winter. Useful as a specimen or in the shrub or perennial border.
