Comments: A hybrid between several native buckeyes, this deciduous tree develops an upright-oval crown reaching 60-75' in height and up to 50' wide. Upright panicles of yellowish red flowers occur in May. Its palmately compound leaves are said not to suffer summer defoliation as many other buckeyes. The dark brown "buckeyes" are covered in a smooth, tan husk. Bark on mature trees is grayish brown and somewhat plate-like.
