Comments: This fast-growing, hybrid shade tree reaches 50' tall and 40' wide in 25 years. Attractive flowers form before the leaves as small, nearly apetalous, red disks (late March). Leaves are somewhat silvery underneath. Fall color ranges from orange-red to bright red. Bark on younger wood is smooth and light gray while older wood becomes gray to brown and furrowed.
