Acer shirasawanum 'Garden Glory'

.
.
Common name: Garden Glory Shirasawa maple
Family: Aceraceae (maple family)
Distribution: Species native to Japan
Hardiness: USDA Zone 5
Life form: Deciduous tree
Comments: A relatively new introduction from Buchholz and Buchholz Nursery, Gaston, OR, named for its leaves which unfold as a mixture of yellow to orange tones. Summer foliage is lime green but in the fall, an outstanding orange-red display is likely. This maple is rated to grow to only 10' tall with a vase-shaped form. Makes a nice specimen or accent plant.
