Comments: This well-known, native tree selection was made for its outstanding and unusual orange fall color and its more conical habit, rather than the upright oval habit of the species. It grows up to 60' tall and 40' wide at nearly twice the rate of the species. It shows resistance to leaf tatter and frost cracking of the trunk and is suitable for use as a large shade tree.
