.
.
Common name: pyramidal silver maple
Family: Aceraceae (maple family)
Synonym: Acer saccharinum 'Fastigiatum'
Distribution: Species native to e. North America
Hardiness: USDA Zone 3
Life form: Deciduous tree
Comments: A somewhat conically shaped, large, deciduous tree growing to about 60' tall and 30' wide. Its habit is more narrow than the species. This selection was made for its more deeply lobed leaves. Summer foliage color is dark, glossy green. Fall color is yellow. A very adaptable tree for poor soil sites where little else will prosper. Surface rooting can be an issue so site appropriately.
