Comments: This is an uncommon maple native to China’s Sichuan Province, typically growing in mixed valleys and forests. It is a small tree, growing up to 30 ft. tall. The leaves are quite distinct, with large long lobes coming to a point. The foliage is deep green in spring to summer, changing to bright yellow in autumn. The bark is purplish-gray. Yellow flowers are borne in pendulous clusters. This a fast-growing, heat tolerant plant.
