.
Common name: Wingle's Weeping Dwarf white fir

Comments: This irregularly mounded, slow-growing, compact weeping selection has only attained about 2' tall and wide after 18 years in the collection. Its short, soft blue-green needles provide a fine and handsome texture. Use in shrub border, rock garden, or foundation planting. Considered the best type of fir for the Midwest, this species is known for retaining its lower limbs longer than many other conifers. Unlike most firs it is equally tolerant of heat and cold once established and very tolerant of urban conditions.
