Comments:
An evergreen witches'-broom found late 1980s in a cemetery next to Eagle Point park in Clinton, Iowa. A plant grafted at time of discovery is a narrow cone, 5' tall and 3' wide. Considered the best type of fir for the Midwest, this species is known for retaining its lower limbs longer than many other conifers. Unlike most firs it is equally tolerant of heat and cold once established and very tolerant of urban conditions.
